Our Story
Baked Studios DSM was created to bring people together through the magic of baking—where flour flies, creativity thrives, and no one leaves empty-handed (or hungry). Our mission is to make baking feel accessible, exciting, and totally hands-on, whether you're whipping up your first scones or perfecting your laminated dough.
From small group classes to private parties and corporate workshops, everything we offer is designed to spark confidence, inspire creativity, and make your time in the kitchen feel like the best part of your day.
Meet Your Pastry Chef Instructor
Chef Jackie is a trained pastry chef, educator, and mentor with a passion for making baking approachable, fun, and confidence-building. She attended the Iowa Culinary Institute and later worked as Pastry Sous Chef at Oak Park Restaurant, where she also taught weekly Spanish classes to the leadership team.
Jackie brings her years of professional experience and natural teaching ability to every class. Known for her clear, supportive instruction, she’s spent years guiding others in kitchens, classrooms, and workshops.
Her philosophy? Great baking should be joyful, inclusive, and never gatekept—because everyone deserves a win (preferably one topped with buttercream).

Baked Studios DSM is proud to call Moxie Events & Kitchen home—a vibrant, shared culinary space where creativity and community come together. As a permanent business resident within Moxie, our studio offers a fully equipped, hands-on environment perfect for baking classes, private events, and sweet celebrations.
Conveniently located in the heart of Des Moines’ Beaverdale neighborhood, we’re just minutes from downtown—easy to find, and even easier to fall in love with once the scent of fresh bread hits the air.
